Howea Forsteriana - 'Court Palm'
Although it’s a staple phrase in the plant world these days, at Leafy we’re not the biggest fan of the term ‘unkillable plant’. It conjures up ideas that some plants can survive a lifetime without water (or according to some plant books we’ve read, non-stop direct sunlight and even flames).
The truth is no plant is unkillable, but some of them are as tough as Phil Mitchell combined with Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the Howea Forsteriana is one of them. Known as the Sentry Palm, it’s one of the stronger members of the Arecaceae family and, and due to this ‘tough guy’, can take a serious, but not complete, level of punishment, which is probably why you’ll see this plant in unfriendly environments like offices and hallways.
Coming from Australia, or at least a small island just off the North East coast, the Howea Forsteriana can now be found pretty much in any environment that suits it’s needs. If you’re looking for a beautiful palm that can care for itself, and doesn’t demand your constant attention then this is the ideal green buddy for you.
(All plants come in plastic grow pot unless otherwise stated)
