Alocasia Reginula - 'Black Velvet'
The 'stand out' plant of the last few years (in our honest opinion) is this wonderful Black Velvet Alocasia (Alocasia reginula), or Little Queen as it's known across the pond. Its an exotic and beautiful little guy, with silver veins that stant out against the broad leaf’s dark, velvety foliage.
The plant isn’t as complicated to care for as others, but it knows what it likes. Alocasia Black Velvet needs coarse, well-draining soil and careful watering to prevent soggy conditions. It prefers humidity that's a bit higher than a normal household in the UK, and temperatures of 15-27ºC, and balanced indirect light.
