Kalanchoe Thyrsiflora - 'Paddle Plant'
The Paddle Plant, or to use its official name, Kalanchoe Thyrsiflora (it just rolls of the tongue) is an interesting (though some will say usual) succulent that grows a rosette of flat, round leaves. It gets its paddle name from the shape of the foliage, which can range in different colours and tones of reds and greens, though personally we think it looks like a succulent impersonating as a rose, or a cabbage. The leaves are considerably fleshy compared to other succulents too, giving it a full and healthy look all year round.
In the right conditions (strong light and correctly watered) mature plants produce a spike of fragrant, yellow flowers in spring. These South African succulents come from the Crassulaceae family, which is an extremely varied group.
(All plants come in plastic grow pot unless otherwise stated)
