Monstera Obliqua - 'Monkey Mask'
The Monstera adansonii brings with it the same asymmetrical leaf pattern as it’s bigger cousin, and just like the Swiss Cheese plant it lives in the jungles of South America, relaxing in the shade of other trees, and allowing light to fall through the holes of its foliage onto the lower leaves below. A normal person on seeing this would have called it a ‘mini cheese plant’ and been done with it, but someone down the line decided it looked exactly like a monkey’s mask. In our opinion something was lost in translation, as we’re never seen a monkey wear a swiss cheese.
It's very easy to care for, as all it needs is an even amount of light throughout the day, and a moderate amount of water - just like a monkey, maybe?
(All plants come in plastic grow pot unless otherwise stated)
