Yucca Elephantipes - 'Spineless Yucca'
This once outdoor plant has over the last few years made its way into people’s homes across the UK, and with its good looks and easy-care requirements, the Yucca elephantipes is the current yucca of choice.
In the 80s and 90s, you would be hard pressed to find a house in England without a Yucca plant sitting somewhere in the living room. It fell out of favour due to its kitsch palm tree look but is making a lot of noise again in the plant world. Whether it’s because we’re are into retro looks, or people are finally admitting that palm trees look amazing, the Yucca elephantipes seems to be the current Yucca on everyone’s lips.
Perfect for adding some American-style, beach coolness to your indoor greenery, Yucca work really well in nearly all types of light, in fact it’s one of the few exotic indoor plants that will endure continuous direct midday sun, and with very little watering needed, these houseplants can take almost incomparable levels of neglect. Not that you should abuse this little beauty - care for it correctly and you’ll have this guy around for years to come.
(All plants come in plastic grow pot unless otherwise stated)
